Will there be a tornado today?

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey, has issued a Tornado Watch for the area until 10 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1.

Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties are in southeastern Pennsylvania; Berks, Lehigh, and Northampton counties are in East Central Pennsylvania; and 15 counties in New Jersey, including Mercer and Monmouth in Central New Jersey, are included in the Watch.

From the remnants of Hurricane Ida, a flash flood watch is in effect for the entire region until Thursday morning.
The low pressure system will bring heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, resulting in widespread rainfall totals of 3 to 6 inches, with locally higher amounts possible. Much of the rain could fall in a short period of time, increasing the risk of flooding.

When combined with already wet conditions, this will result in a slew of flash floods, some of which could be severe.

In areas of the heaviest rain, flooding of creeks, streams, urban areas, and poor drainage areas is likely. The roads are likely to be flooded, especially in low-lying areas. Some main stem rivers may experience moderate to major flooding, and roads and structures near these rivers may be flooded.
